Summer Sports

Okay, this has nothing to do with summer sports, but I had to post another one of my creations. I made this cute little get-up.
Now on to more important matters...sports! Madison is so into sports right now and I love it. We took her to a few all-comer track meets this summer and she was in heaven. She is so competitive and tries so hard. She loves to try all the different events, but I think her favorite so far is the high jump and the 200.
Highlight: She won first place in the 200...boys and girls.

I signed Madison up for baseball. She was the only girl on her team, but she was a fierce little short-stop. Watch out boys!
Highlight: She was so proud that she could always hit the ball on the first pitch.

All the kids are in swim lessons this summer. Madison is a little fish and could live in the pool. Brody and Warwick are a different story.
Highlight: Brody and Warwick actually participating in their swim class.

Oh, and Happy Birthday to me.

I think it's so fun being a Mom to girls who enjoy being physically active/athletic and have loved the outcome of girls who grow up playing sports. -looks like Madison & her Mom are both lovin' it too! I meant to tell you that there was a triathlon at Cottage Lake Park in July. Kacie & I took the boys to watch. You would've loved it, although it might be beginner-ish triathlon stuff compared to what you've done. But I could picture Madison doing it. There's another one at Cottage Lake in September. You can read about it here:

Cottage Lake Course Description:
The .25 mile swim in Cottage Lake Park is a triangular course (counter clock-wise). Cottage Lake temperatures are expected to be around 65-68 degrees in June and September and wetsuits are allowed. Once off the beach, the walk to transition is on grass.

The 4.5 mile loop for the Bike course takes you through residential areas circumnavigating the lake, and you get to enjoy this twice.

For the 1.6 mile Run, you get to traverse through the Park, exiting and following Avondale Road entering a peaceful residential area, returning to the serene trail in the park and finishing the course.

The Elite Category goes through two circuits.

KIDS Cottage Lake Course Description:
Your child will enjoy this quick 25yard swim in Cottage Lake and then get on a bike (.65-1.2 miles) to ride the paved trail within the park. The run (240-440 yrds) is mainly around the transition, so you will be able to watch your child complete this course.
